3rd full-length album from Kekal. Originally released in 2001.

The Painful Experience was created as a direct response to the issues Kekal had with the 1999 album Embrace The Dead. It marked as the return to the band’s roots in delivering authentic, no-nonsense music full of raw energy and attitude derived from punk music and sub-culture. Production switched from analog recording of their first 2 albums to computer-based digital home-recording (DAW), albeit a more basic and “primitive” in its set-up due to the lack of outboard gear and professional mixing board. This was also the band’s first take in the progressive/avant-garde direction by incorporating electronic elements into their musical presentation. This album was originally released by 4 independent record labels in 2001 on CD and cassette tape that made Kekal’s music being introduced even further to worldwide metal music fans, including in Europe and North America.

The 2023 Updated Edition will have a physical format (CD) coming later this year! Stay tuned.
